Black Dyke Band

Description
The world-famous brass band perform rousing and varied music with many arrangements by the band members. Tonight’s programme will include Shostokovich, Karl Jenkins, Dave Brubeck and Stravinsky, with solos from tuba, tenor horn, cornet and euphonium.

The Ron Hayes Big Band

Description
The Ron Hayes Big Band are one of the best contemporary big bands in the North West – a big band in the true sense of the word. The band play a mix of classic big band standards and more contemporary charts. For all those fans of the great big band vocalists, the band will be joined by one of their regular vocalists singing the songs of Frank, Bobby and Michael.

Description
This was a sell-out last year and the Marquee provides the perfect setting. Once again the riotous Bierkeller Band (aka Marple Band) will play, fronted by Herbert Von Bismarck, and audience participation is expected in the drinking songs and toasts! Tunes like Baden Bei Wein, Gruss Aus Innsbruck along with Lilli Marlane and Dark Town Strutters Ball will be played.

Marple Band and Hawk Green Band join forces…listen to the noise! The Brass Band Concert will include guest soloist Lucy Murphy, Flugel Horn with the Brighouse and Rastrick Band.
Information will be provided during the evening to update on the Brass Bands of Marple “Shine” project to convert the Park Keepers Cottage into a rehearsal facility.

Musicfest at St Martin’s
Venue: St Martin’s Church Day

Description
Variety of musical groups and performers throughout the day, with music to suit all tastes including classical, choral, folk, jazz and brass. Schools, choirs, bands, soloists, quartets and many more will be performing both in church and in the Parish Hall. Refreshments will be served in the Parish Hall.
All finished off in jubilant mood with an evening concert. 7.30pm, £8
Proceeds from the Musicfest will be used to support the work of Blythe House Hospice and The Wellspring in Stockport.
