Crime Writing Competition
Venue: Marple Library
Time: Entries in by 17th September to the Library
Price: FREE to enter
Description
For all budding crime writers!
As part of the innovative Evening of Crime on Tuesday 27th September at the Carver Theatre, people can create their own mystery set very firmly in Marple.
Local author, Chris Simms, has provided the opening lines. Complete this passage in fewer than 600 words – you choose the style and you decide the plot.
“It was an unnerving sound, especially to be echoing across Marple so early on a Sunday morning. Sam Evans cautiously rounded the corner of Market Street and came to a sudden halt...”
Please take your completed story to Marple Library by Saturday 17th September. Do not put your name on the story but put it in an envelope with a separate sheet of paper with your name on.
Chris will announce the winners during the first half of the Crime Evening.
Two prizes: best under 16 entry and best overall entry
