The Edukators (15) (Die Fetten Jahre sind vorbei)

Hans Weingartner, Germany/Austria 2004

Three young anti-capitalist activists in Berlin hatch a kidnapping plot after they encounter a businessman in his home. A slyly effective thriller and a deft comedy of romantic confusion.

This year’s Marple International Film Festival will focus on films from around the globe that will leave audiences gripped, unsettled…and maybe just a little disturbed. It will explore the clashes between class and age, ideology and idealism, retribution and revenge.

The films will, once again, contain a variety of international flavours and styles and will be marketed and introduced by students from Marple Hall School and Cheadle & Marple 6th Form College. Discussions following screenings will be encouraged and prompted.

Films are in a foreign language and subtitled in English.
