Description

Take the 10.36 from Manchester Piccadilly to Rose Hill Marple, and enjoy the sounds of Dr Butler’s Hatstand Medicine Band on board. They will then play at The Food & Drink Market from 11.30 to 12.30, after which you can hear them back at the Railway pub from about 1pm.

Dr Butler’s will perform blues and folk – hillbilly rock with cloth caps and waistcoats. Good time rags and reels, show stoppers and sight stealers; music for foot stomping and toe tickling that joins hearts with flesh whilst invigorating the thinking mind.

Folk Trains take you on a musical journey as you travel – musicians play on the train, then everyone alights to visit local sites and enjoy further foot tapping sessions.

Musicfest at St Martin’s

Venue: St Martin’s Church Day

Description

Variety of musical groups and performers throughout the day, with music to suit all tastes including classical, choral, folk, jazz and brass. Schools, choirs, bands, soloists, quartets and many more will be performing both in church and in the Parish Hall. Refreshments will be served in the Parish Hall.

All finished off in jubilant mood with an evening concert. 7.30pm, £8
Proceeds from the Musicfest will be used to support the work of Blythe House Hospice and The Wellspring in Stockport.
